II. Built for Demanding Pipeline Applications
Natural gas pipeline valves may operate in remote locations, under high pressure, at extreme temperatures or under emergency conditions. The BG-GO Series is designed to provide dependable valve actuation while allowing the actuator and control system to be configured according to specific project requirements.
2.1、Pipeline Gas Powered
The actuator uses pipeline gas pressure as its operating power source. No external power supply is required for normal operation.
2.2、Wide Torque Range
With output torque from 400 Nm to 600,000 Nm, the BG-GO Series covers a wide range of quarter-turn valve applications.
2.3、Designed for Harsh Environments
The standard operating temperature range is −20°C to +80°C, with low-temperature configurations available down to −60°C.
2.4、Suitable for Sour Gas Service
Configurations are available for natural gas containing H₂S, allowing the actuator to be used in demanding gas service conditions.
2.5、Flexible Control Configuration
The modular design allows different control and safety functions to be configured according to pipeline operating and project requirements.
III. Typical Applications
BG-GO Series Gas Over Oil Actuators are designed for valve automation in natural gas facilities and pipeline systems, including:
- Gas Transmission Pipelines
- Production Lines
- Metering Stations
- Dehydration Systems
- Gas Storage Facilities
- Gas Separation Facilities
- LNG Pipelines
IV. How the BG-GO Gas Over Oil Actuator Works
The BG-GO Series uses pipeline gas as the power source and hydraulic oil as the transmission medium.
Pipeline gas enters the gas-hydraulic tank and acts on the hydraulic oil. The pressurized hydraulic oil is then directed to the hydraulic cylinder to generate linear movement.
The Scotch Yoke mechanism converts the linear movement of the hydraulic cylinder into rotary motion to operate the quarter-turn valve.
4.1 Scotch Yoke Mechanism
The Scotch Yoke mechanism converts the linear movement generated by the hydraulic cylinder into rotary movement for quarter-turn valve operation.
Its torque characteristics are suitable for the operating requirements of quarter-turn valves.
4.2 Hydraulic Cylinder
The hydraulic cylinder converts hydraulic pressure into the mechanical force required to drive the Scotch Yoke mechanism and operate the valve.

4.3 Gas-Hydraulic Tank
The gas-hydraulic tank separates the pipeline gas from the hydraulic drive system while transferring gas pressure to the hydraulic oil.
4.4 Control Unit
The control unit manages actuator operation and can be configured with different control and safety functions according to project requirements.
V. Control & Pipeline Protection
The BG-GO Series can be configured with different control and pipeline protection functions to meet specific operating and safety requirements.
5.1 Differential Pressure Protection — DP
A differential pressure switch can be used to monitor the pressure difference across the valve and prevent valve operation when the differential pressure exceeds the preset value.
This helps protect the valve and actuator from operation under unsuitable differential-pressure conditions.

5.2 Emergency Shut-Down — ESD
The Emergency Shut-Down system provides automatic emergency valve operation based on preset pressure conditions.
It can be configured according to the shutdown requirements of the pipeline system.

5.3 Pneumatic Line Break — PLB
The Pneumatic Line Break system monitors pipeline pressure changes.
When an abnormal pressure-drop rate reaches the preset condition, the system can initiate automatic valve closure to isolate the pipeline.
5.4 Partial Stroke Test — PST
The Partial Stroke Test function allows the valve to perform a controlled partial movement without carrying out a complete shutdown.
This provides a method for checking the movement capability of an emergency shutdown valve during normal pipeline operation.
5.5 Electronic Line Break — ELB
The Electronic Line Break system provides electronic pipeline pressure monitoring and configurable shutdown control.
It can be used as part of the pipeline protection and emergency valve control system.

VI. Accessories & Optional Configurations
The BG-GO Series can be equipped with accessories and additional configurations according to operating conditions and project requirements.
6.1 Emergency Manual Pump
Provides manual hydraulic operation when the normal operating power source is unavailable.
6.2 Hydraulic Filter
Helps maintain the cleanliness of the hydraulic medium within the actuator system.
6.3 Unidirectional Flow Regulator
Provides hydraulic flow adjustment to control actuator operating characteristics.
6.4 Torque Limit Switch
Provides torque-related protection and control during valve operation.
6.5 Gas Filter
Filters the operating gas before it enters the actuator control system.
6.6 Gas Storage Tank
Provides stored gas for actuator operation when the normal gas supply is unavailable or insufficient.
6.7 Solar Controller
Provides an additional control solution for applications requiring solar-powered electrical control.
6.8 Fireproof Cover
Provides additional protection for the actuator in applications requiring fire protection.
