Electric Globe Valve – Product Overview
The Electric Globe Valve is equipped with an electric actuator that controls the opening and closing of the valve. The valve and actuator are directly connected, featuring an integrated servo system without the need for an additional servo amplifier.
The valve can be operated using a 4–20 mA control signal and a 220V AC power supply. It features simple wiring, a compact structure, small dimensions, lightweight construction, low flow resistance, and stable, reliable operation.
A manual operating mechanism can also be provided according to application requirements. The actuator supports manual and electric switching, allowing both local manual operation and remote control.
Working Principle
Electric Globe Valves are widely used because of their relatively low friction between sealing surfaces during opening and closing, good wear resistance, moderate opening height, ease of manufacturing, and convenient maintenance. They are suitable for both low-pressure and high-pressure applications.
The valve operates by using electric power to drive the valve stem, pressing the valve disc sealing surface tightly against the valve seat sealing surface to prevent fluid flow.
The Electric Globe Valve allows fluid to flow in only one direction and must be installed according to the specified flow direction. Compared with a gate valve, the globe valve has a longer structural length and higher flow resistance. Its sealing reliability may decrease during extended operation.
Operating Process
1. Closed Position: When the valve is closed, the valve disc is pressed tightly against the valve seat by the mechanical force applied through the valve stem.
2. Initial Opening: When the handwheel is turned counterclockwise, the valve stem moves upward, and the angled sealing surface at the bottom of the valve disc separates from the valve seat.
3. Valve Opening: As the valve stem continues to rise, the guiding mechanism within the stem’s spiral groove allows the valve disc to rotate without friction against the sealing surface.
4. Fully Open Position: The valve stem continues moving upward until it reaches its upper limit, placing the valve in the fully open position.
Product Features
1. Simple Structure: The valve features a straightforward design, making manufacturing and maintenance convenient.
2. Short Operating Stroke: The valve requires a relatively short opening and closing stroke, allowing quick operation.
3. Reliable Sealing Performance: The sealing surfaces experience relatively low friction, providing good wear resistance and a long service life.
4. Multiple Body Configurations: Available in straight-through, straight-flow, and angle-type body structures to meet different pipeline requirements.
5. Excellent Wear Resistance: Compared with gate valves, the sealing surfaces experience less friction during opening and closing, reducing wear.
6. Easy Operation and Maintenance: The valve generally has only one sealing surface, simplifying manufacturing and maintenance while providing convenient operation.
